Why book a a Cake Smash Photoshoot at Chiswick Child Photography?
A cake smash is a fun and memorable way to celebrate your baby's 1st birthday (and can also work well for two year olds). Your baby's reaction to the cake will be photographed - whether they dive in head first or tentatively explore the cake with their fingers or a spoon.
Catherine uses professional lighting systems and is experienced in editing each photograph individually to achieve the best results.
Catherine has over ten years experience in providing cake smash photoshoots for one (and two year olds).
Chiswick Child Photography has a huge choice of themed backdrops and set ups for cake smash sessions ranging from Boss Baby, Dinosaur, Princess and Jungle backdrops to more classic style balloon themed backdrops. Clients can choose these in advance from the Cake Smash Backdrop gallery page.
Beautiful and delicious personalised cakes are provided (made by a professional cake maker) and dairy and egg free cakes are available on request. Clients can choose a cake style (and colour) from the Cake gallery page of this website. Most babies don't completely demolish the cake (with the odd exception!) and parents can therefore take whatever is left home with them to enjoy.
Baby outfits (including themed outfits for set ups such as Boss Baby) are provided for the cake smash and handmade couture baby dresses imported from the USA are also available for pre cake smash baby portrait photographs. You can view these by clicking on the Baby Couture Dress Gallery page.
There are several different packages available to suit different budgets and preferences.
All packages are available for twin sessions. Most twins are happy to share the cake included in the package but you can purchase an additional cake as an add-on if you would prefer them each to sit with their own cake.
The larger cake smash packages include classic baby portrait and family photographs at the start of the session and a picture of your baby sitting next to a teddy bear in a vintage suitcase plus a baby bath splash in a claw foot baby bath tub at the end. If your baby enjoys bath time the bath photographs are often the most smiley ones.

The emphasis is on baby fun for these photoshoots so they work very well as a memorable treat for first birthdays.
NB Cake Smashes are exclusively for parents and babies but up to 3 siblings can attend the first part of the session and be included in the pre cake smash photographs for the Gold Package - please advise on sibling ages beforehand. There is a local park at the end of the road where one parent or another adult can take siblings during the remainder of the session.
Please let me know if your child has any food allergies so that my cake maker can provide a dairy free and/or egg free cake for them.

Booking Deposit Fee: £200
Please give a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations/date changes in order to avoid the £100 late cancellation fee which will otherwise be deducted from your deposit. The booking fee is non refundable but can be used towards later packages if clients cancel with a minimum of 24 hours notice.
Please note that the photographer will select the best images from each session for editing.
Unedited images are not available for viewing and RAW files/unedited images are not given.
Please note that clients are not allowed to take their own photographs and/or video footage during sessions.
Additional editing requests will be charged at a rate of £20 per image edit (on top of the package price).
A maximum of 5 additional edited images may be requested for packages which include at least 20 edited images.
A maximum of 3 additional edited images may be requested for packages which include fewer than 20 edited images.
Additional editing charges need to be paid in advance.
Additional digital images may also be purchased at a rate of £20 per image.
